Is Your Dad A Grumpy Old Man?
Well let’s face it most of them are even when they aren’t old!!!
That doesn’t mean we don’t love them though! My Dad’s great but he loves a good moan about society today and is always harping on about ‘it’s not like it used to be…!’ Lets face it, it wouldn’t be the same if they suddenly became all pleasant and in touch with their female side!!
Well I’ve found a great pressie for my Dad this Fathers Day and it will compliment the MP3 player I bought him for Christmas.
‘Grumpy Old Men the Secret Diary’ on audio book is perfect! I know he loved the series on TV so he will love listening to the book as he does his gardening! So if all the World Cup merchandise out there isn’t for your dad either, have a look at this:
In painstaking detail, he takes us through a year in the constantly irritated life of a Grumpy Old Man, recounting the manifold vexations and absurdities he has to put up with in this perpetual torment that we call modern living. Drinks parties, holidays, hospital visits, his children’s misdemeanours, buying presents for the wife, watching television, attempts to visit the gym, trips to the shops, the trials and tribulations of daily life – every event has something to tip him over the edge. Stuart’s diary proves that grumpiness is not just an occasional mood or a temporary feeling, but a way of looking at the world, and will strike a chord with all those who are proud to call themselves Grumpy Old Men.
Yes, it’s a daily chronicle of life for the terminally irritable; an almanac of angst, read and introduced by one of the grumpiest of Grumpy Old Men, writer and comedian Arthur Smith. If you know, live with, tolerate or even are a Grumpy Old Man, this audio release is essential listening.
